Microbial Stress Responses and Antimicrobial Resistance

Understanding microbial survival in complex environments

About the Lab

The Overhage Lab investigates how bacterial stress responses and biofilm formation influence microbial persistence, antimicrobial resistance, and treatment efficacy in complex environments. Using molecular microbiology, genomics, and host-relevant biofilm models, we study how microbes adapt to antimicrobial exposure, interact within polymicrobial communities, and survive within biofilms.
